Description	It is not a difficult job to convert a fixed head into a drop head coupe,but it is time consuming and not a project for the faint hearted. As the Elan was originally designed as a drop head, no strength is lost from the body by cutting off the roof, although the windscreen pillars must be properly reinforced. The original drop head coupe (Series 3 to Sprint) is Type 45, the FHC is Type 36.
